This flat magnet has an adhesive back so it mounts directly to a panel without fasteners. It is used at any spot a door, cover and sensor need a magnetic contact.
Techs replace it when the old magnet has fallen off, lost its adhesive, cracked, and when a door switch and sensor stop reading because the magnet is missing.
