This is the top lamp holder for the high output fluorescent tube in a Royal cold drink machine. The spring loaded design lets you push the tube up into it and drop it into the bottom socket, and it carries power from the ballast to the lamp pins.
Replace it when the sign stays dark or flickers with a known good tube and ballast, when the socket is cracked or burned, or when the spring no longer holds the lamp tight.
Fits: Royal 660. DS Vending lists it for Royal and Dixie Narco high output lamps. Match the part number to be sure.
Part numbers: OEM 842001. Also listed as 842001 (DS Vending).
